Burning Metal sees the creation and destruction of the yellow Constructicons, and Megatron regaining command of the Earthen Decepticons. The Neo-Knight Dynamo is killed. Ratbat makes a brief reappearance of a sort. A clone of Ultra Magnus comes to Earth. A replacement Wildrider has been built, as has a new body for Snarl. The Continued Earthforce Wars stories tell of the crash of the Ark (again – it was rebuilt in 1992) and its capture by Megatron. The real Ultra Magnus, missing since Deadly Games, arrives to take command. Shockwave was thrown from the Space Bridge in Burning Metal and now finds himself on a planet of the Cybertronian Empire. He makes a secret alliance with the Liege Maximo.

  A Savage Experiment, set during the G2 comic at a time when Megatron possesses the Creation Matrix, sees his creation of the first prototype Beast Warriors. The experiment is deemed a failure and they are shot into space. Something causes their pod to be flung to a semi-Cyberformed planet on the far side of the Galaxy called YaJurus.

Hot Rod and the Rotorbots are captured by the Empire while investigating an uprising on the Cyberworld Jhiatron-1 in the Galactic Core. Rook is now under the command of Liege Genero Phoenix. The Liege Maximo begins to take an interest in the activities of the Autobots and Decepticons.

Intervention tells of how a Cyberformer attack on Nebulos is thwarted by the Quintessons. What’s in a Body? sees Sureshot absorbed by the Swarm to gain special powers and Prime’s Combat Hero body, and introduces the Gobots. Megatron retakes the Warworld. The Perfect Empire sees the Autobots learn of the four main Imperial sectors in the Milky Way Galaxy, under Star Saber, Deathsaurus, Thunderclash and Skyquake. Twincaster’s four Cassettes infiltrate Star Saber’s domain and are not heard from again. The Matrix Gambit sees the Micromasters seek a new Matrix in the Acid Wastes. The Race Car, Sports Car, Military and Race Track Patrols and Skyhopper are all killed off. In Friendly Fire Guzzle is killed. Buster and Blaster are captured by the Empire. Ratchet and Perceptor are captured by Shockwave who now rules in Tarn. Ratchet is released but Perceptor remains with him to learn more about the Empire. In Future Legend Cerebros is tortured at the Hub. To End the Fighting and Trial and Error see Optimus Prime and a crack team raid the Hub. Hot Rod learns biomorphic reproduction and creates Arcee. They both escape to Earth. Traitor sees the origin of Frenzy’s alternative Gobot body. Divergent Paths has the Skyscorchers and Stormtroopers escape Autobot captivity (see Fleetway’s G2 #1-2). In Human Relations Twincaster is killed rescuing the US President from the Warworld. In The Ravages of War Ravage discovers his head from Beast Wars.

December 15th 1995 – The Autobots unveil their new creation, Arcee, to satisfy feminist groups.

In The Toll of Death, Chainclaw and the Aquaspeeders are killed. News of the World sees the return of certain Autobots missing since G2, namely the four active Aerialbots, the four active Dinobots, Springer, Broadside, Tracks, Bluestreak and Carnivac. Catilla, Red Alert and Inferno are restored. For the whole of 1995, Beachcomber, Hubcap and Seaspray have patrolled as the Autobots’ Earth Reconnaissance Unit. The Earthforce is re-established under Ultra Magnus and Grimlock, and Optimus Prime returns to Cybertron.

Fallen Friends Remembered sees Deathsaurus escape from his tomb on Earth where he has been stuck for centuries, and returns to the Imperial Destron sector. The TMUK Beast Wars stories are set on the planet YaJurus. Some of the characters involved are based on vague memories Megatron has of the Beast Wars from when his Spark was mingled w/ BW Megs'. The Brothers in Arms/A Rage in Hell story covers most of 1996. Highlights include the creation of Scamper, Slammer and Six-Gun, the death of Galvatron #2, the defection of Thunderclash’s Star Former fleet to the Autobots and subsequent killing of the Liege Maximo, Megatron’s complete conquest of Cybertron, the partially-restored Unicron’s devouring of the Hub in the Large Magellanic Cloud, and the return of Spike. Cindersaur and the surviving Triggerbots and Triggercons are killed (Crank-Case and Override died in the G2 comic). In Remains of the Empire Dark Convoy escapes the destruction of the Hub.

December 1996

Megatron forms an alliance with Skyquake’s Dominator sector of the Empire. Unicron begins his Mind-Gap, whereby the Transformers temporarily forget his first coming. Prime’s Laser Rod body is given life and named Roadforce.

All That Jazz sees an attempt by Megatron to cause dissent in the Autobots’ chain of command and an all-out assault on Earthbase and the return of Trypticon (last seen in 1993’s Burning Metal and 1995’s News of the World). Doubledealer’s secret is finally revealed to all and he is destroyed and his Nebulan partners killed. The Transhumans series tells the ongoing story of the Neo-Knights.

In 1998 and 1999 CG2 tells the story of a small group of Autobots led by Prowl as they travel through space making alliances, aiming to eventually meet Star Saber and bring an end to his Cyberforming. Meanwhile on Earth, Transhumans tells of a Decepticon occupation of America which is ended before Prowl’s crew returns home. Kingdom of the Blind is the final story in the shuttle arc (it will span three issues of CG2 once published in print) as the Autobots prepare to return to Cybertron – but, all does not go according to plan.
