But what does the Bible actually say you and i must do to be saved? If you were to listen many preachers today, They might tell you to repeat the
sinners prayer.I Know you've probably heard it, IT GOES SOMETHING LIKE THIS, Lord jesus, I accept you into my heart as Lord and saviour , I
believe you died for me and God raised you from the dead for me now come into my heart etc., or
something to that effect.
That's what most preachers seem to be telling people to do.
This phrase is in the Bible, but it was never used to introduce someone to Christ and it was never told to someone who wanted to know what they must do to be saved.
No this scripture was given to those who were already saved, explaining the inner workins of salvation.
But what does the Bible say?
Well, in the word of God, all of the records of people that were saved and how they were saved, are written in the bookof Acts. the book of Acts, is the record of how the gospel was spread from jerusalem throughout the then know world.
the first record of someone being saved from the preaching of the Gospel, is recorded in the second charpter of the book of Acts.
On the day of pentecostin the book of Acts chapter 2 verse 38, When Peter and the disciples were asked by the people, what they must do to be saved Peter said,
REPENT AND BE BAPTIZED EVERYONE OF YOU IN THE NAMEOF JESUS CHRIST FOR THE REMMISSION OF YOUR SINS, AND YE SHALL RECEIVE THE GIFT OF THE
HOLY GHOST.
Did you Know that all the people that were baptized by the disciples of Jesus, were baptized in the name of the lord jesus christ, and
were filled with the Holy Ghost. None of the biblical converts recited the so called sinners prayer. Read Acts 2nd chapter, Acts 10th
chaapter, Acts 19th chapter.
Did you Know that jesus said, that repentance and remmissions of sin
should be preached in his Name, beginning at jerusalem. Luke 24:45-50
Why are people doing something totally different these days?
The book of Jude may give us some insite. My beloved.......it was
needful for me to write unto you and to exort you that ye should
earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the
saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before
of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace
of God into lasciviousness, and denying the Lord God and our Lord
Jesus Christ.Jude 3-6.
The apostle paul wrote about this saying. Now the spirit speaketh
expressly. that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith,
giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils. Speaking
lies in hypocrisy ; having there conscience seared with a hot iron;
1st Timothy 4:1-2
If one will read the bible, one will find that the, God wants you to
be rich gospel , that is being taught today , bear little
ressemblence to the gospel Jude and Paul talked about. Paul the
apostle who helped spread the gospel around the then known world. Was
beaten , threatened , thrown in jail, and some say beheaded for
preaching the Gospel. Todays preachers say your supposed to be rich ,
and have all your dreams come true..
Both of these can't be true
.
Don't follow man my friend follow the word of God do as peter said,
Repent be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for
the remission of your sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy
Ghost. Acts 2:38
