| More about me |
| I am an English teacher and I have been teaching for 12 years. During these 12 years I have taught at a secondary school, at language schools and I also did teaching at company courses as well as one to one teaching. I love teaching and I love dealing with people. I am 37 years old now and I am single and so I had to learn the "art" of cooking in order to get decent food on the dinner table. I was 21 when I was given the first cooking lessons by my mother and soon my knowledge was put to the test when I went with my friends to the Tatra mountains in Slovakia and I was given the task of providing meals for the boys. I think I passed the test since my friends did not complain at all, what is more we could conquer all the peaks we planned to reach possibly (at least in part) thanks to the nutritious food we had. OK, let's cut a long story short, I became really interested in cooking and I acquired and tried out many recipes. However, as for baking cakes, I only took up this hobby one year ago. One day I said to myself: 'I have never tried baking cakes and although I don't really have a sweet tooth, I never refuse a delicious cake so why shouldn't I try it'. And so I did try it and my first cake was quite a success compared to the fact that it was my very first attempt to bake a cake. Needless to say that I became encouraged to produce more cakes and very soon I became a fanatic. I collected recipes from all possible sources including old and new cook books, from the internet, from my students etc. I tried out all the recipes that promised to be delicious and I made the cakes I really loved several times improving my skills all the time, learning from my mistakes. After one year of baking cakes two or three times a week on average, I decided I must share the recipes with my friends and students. However, as I wanted to reach out to a wider audience, I made up my mind to create a website in English and Spanish since these two languages are spoken by most people (not mentioning Chinese, of course, which, unfortunately, I cannot speak) on planet Earth. On this website only those cakes are included that my "testers" and I found the most tasty and are relatively easy to make. Besides baking cakes, however, I have and had other hobbies too. The most important of these for me and the one about which I cherish memories is mountain climbing. When I left the army (actually I did my obligatory military service as a mounted border-guard) I was lucky enough to make some good friends. They were cave-explorers and they were nature lovers just like me. We made numerous memorable hikings and we climbed virtually all peaks in Tatra in Slovakia and the most important peaks in the Alps. We took plenty of photos and I would like to show all the visitors the most beautiful ones and the ones that are most memorable for me. On both sides of this page there are photos of these climbings. Although it is mountains that I love most of all, I went underground too, that is, I did some crawling and descending in caves. However, though caves have their attractions, I prefer to walk on the surface of the planet since I think it offers much more beauty. |
