Opal M. Naff, 83, of Roanoke, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2006. Arrangements by

NAFF, Russell Thomas, 89, of Boones
Mill, passed away Saturday, March 8,
2003. He was born on March 4, 1914, in
Boones Mill, Va. He served three years in
the U.S. Navy during World War II from
1942 to 1945. He was a former member of
First Church of the Brethren in Roanoke
and is currently a member of Cedar Bluff
Church of the Brethren in Boones Mill. He
was a lifetime member of the American
Legion and the National Association of
Letter Carriers. He worked at the post
office in Roanoke for 31 years retiring in
1972. He had a passion for gardening and
loved the outdoors. He was preceded in
death by his parents, Daniel Thomas and
Nora Montgomery Naff; two brothers,
Daniel Theo Naff and Willie Ralph Naff.
Those left to cherish his memory are his
loving wife of 63 years, Ollie Ronk Naff(b.c1919 d.VA 2-8-2006);
also a daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette
and Sam Garst of Boones Mill;
granddaughter, Susan and husband, Jim
McGuire; and three great-grandsons,
Bradley, Brian and Tyler of Stephens City,
Va.; a grandson, Greg and wife, Jennifer
Garst; and a great-granddaughter, Anna of
Alexandria, Va. Other survivors include
sisters, Thelma Thurman of Roanoke,
Mabel Bowman, also of Roanoke; sister
and brother-in-law, Julia and Don Jennings
of Salem; brother and sister-in-law, Berlon
and Lillian Naff of Boones Mill; two
sisters-in-law, Danes Naff of Vinton, Alice
and husband, Dick Johnson of Roanoke;
sister-in-law, Hazel Ronk Cummings and
husband, Elmer of Boones Mill; five
nephews; seven nieces; a number of
great-nieces and nephews. The family
would like to thank Dr. Raj Bharathan and
the devoted staff at South Roanoke Nursing
Home who have taken special care of him in
recent months. Funeral service will be
conducted at Oakey's South Chapel 11
a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2003. Rev.
Jerry Naff, nephew, will be officiating along
with the Reverends Lee and Robin Naff.
Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery. The
family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7
to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Oakey's South
Chapel. The family suggest memorials be
made to Cedar Bluff Church of the
Brethren, 5516 Wade's Gap Road, Boones
Mill, Va. 24065.

NAFF, Daniel Curtis, Sr., 82, of Botetourt County
passed away Friday, February 22, 2002. He was a life
time member of Cloverdale Church of The Brethren
and was a World War II Veteran where he served in
the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his
parents, Joel and Drucilla Naff; two brothers, Russell
Naff and Berlin Naff. He is survived by his wife of 62
years, Elsie Stanley Naff; two sons, Daniel C. Naff, Jr.
and wife Linda, Ricky D. Naff and wife, Donna; two
grandchildren, Daniel and Keira Naff; three sisters and
two brothers, Lucille Mills, Irene Orndorf, Betty
Caricofe and husband J.H. , Glen Naff and wife, Mary,
Ralph Naff and wife Agnes; also a sister-in-law, Hazel
Naff; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral
services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 25,
2002 at the Oakey's East Chapel with Rev. Glenn
McCrickard officiating. Interment will follow in the Old
Dominion Memorial Gardens. Those wishing to make
memorials, please consider the Cloverdale Church of
