Gail Denver Landis, 81, of Tucson, Ariz., and formerly of Covington, died Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, in Tucson, Ariz.
He was born Aug. 18, 1922, in Pleasant Hill, son of the late Forest C. and Ola (Krider) Landis.
He graduated from Newton schools in 1941.
Gail retired in 1974 as a computer systems analyst from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Fairborn.
He was a member of the Covington Church of the Brethren,
He served his country during the World War II in the U.S. Air Force.
He married Mary Louise (Trimpe) Landis on Sept. 30, 1945, and she survives.
Other survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Lueta Landis of Piqua;
two grandchildren, Derek and Kelsey Landis of Piqua; sisters, Zara Lou Bisson of Dayton and Ila Jean Minnich of Covington;
and brother, Vier K. Landis of Tucson, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Otis I. Landis.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, at Pearson-Jackson Funeral Home, 10 S. High St., Covington,
with Pastor Dan Poole officiating.
Calling hours are from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8 at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Miami Memorial Park Cemetery in Covington.
The Franklin Masonic Lodge will hold Masonic Services at 6:45 p.m. Thursday evening during calling hours.
The Tri-Village Color Guard will hold graveside services.
