| Head: Lift Ticket Body: Duke Let me start off by saying that this is NOT a lazy custom. I liked Duke's body as it was for a Cobra desert commander, and I did paint the gold buttons on the packs and the gold hilt on the boot knife. I agree with Loop that half of the custom is in the head. Have you ever looked at Lift Ticket and wanted to wipe that dopey grin off his face? I did. I think that the helmet looks very Cobra like, and I wanted to give the impression of a hooded snake. I removed the facial features with an X-acto knife and 400 grit sandpaper. Then I painted it a gloss black. The concept behind Hood was half finding a good use for a custom head, and half creating more faceless troops for my tiny Cobra army. With all the gold, however, I thinked that he ended up looking more like a commander. Hood is a nasty jerk, mean to the bone. He loves the desert, and causing pain. As the Desert Scorpions are all pretty much losers in the eyes of Cobra Command, they put up with, and even encourge his sadistic behavior in keeping Cobra's second most notorious group under control. One last thing. The custom shotgun is fantastic and it comes from a set of figures called: Air Power Eagle Raid which are 5 point articulate, and have heads compatable with 82-83 torsos. The figures themselves are crap, but the guns are fantastic and detailed, and are completely compatible with Joes. I cut the butt off the gun, as it was a bit too long, and I think the result is a shotgun cooler than Falcon's. I am looking at doing a custom gun section of the page as well. |
