| Commando Code Name: Snake Eyes |
| Head: Sagat Torso, Arms: Ryu V2 Waist: Dialtone V1 Legs: Slipstream V1 Goggles: Tiger Team - Air Eagle Diver Harness: Star Wars add on pack Every customizer deserves a vanity project Snake Eyes. I wanted to get back to the commando look of the figure and do something like the later, pre-ninja force commando dress. I took apart a broken thumbed Ryu to see how the "Ninja Action" figures worked, and then spent quite a bit of time trying to get a Soldier Force head to work with the body. (It doesn't.) I picked up a Big Boa body with a Sagat head flopping around in it at a flea market, and the rest, as we say is history. The pained expression and damaged face looked really good painted over in semi-gloss black, and up close you can really see a horible grimice of pain on his face. It really adds character. The thumbs are repaired, (broken T'jbang thumbs cut and glued on) and the highlights on the body were drybrushed. A light gloss of Tamiya Smoke clear coat was washed over the Ryu chest/arms and the Slipstream chaps greys to get them to match a bit better. The UZI is Law's, and the harness is from a Star Wars Backpack, held together by the handle of a CORPS whip through the holes. Attached to the back (not Shown) are some knock off grenades (Through the holes of the straps) and a lightsaber painted to look like a normal flashlight. This sounds like a lot of work, but it wasn't really, just a bunch of trial and error. I am really pleased with the result. I was quite proud when a female friend (who's only exposure to joe was the cartoons) came over and looked at it, and said, "Isn't that Snake Eyes?" *grin* |
