I liked him in the cartoon, but always hated his uniforms on the figures. Even the "fisherman" version was really not up to what I wanted. So I split it down the middle, and took the best from both versions. He is the second member of my recon team, and I am very pleased with the results.

This is also an experimentation in paint wipes. I make sure that the first coat that I paint is an acceptable undercover (in this case pale green drab) and painted over with the olive drab, dragging the brush quickly so that some of the undercoat shows through. Since my experiences in painting camo failed, I find this a better way to get the depth out of the drab military colors. I used the same style and coloring for the entire recon team.

I left the vest as is. Why? It's a cool vest.

One last thing. That was a broken waist. I broke a Corps waist to fix it. I simply cut the necessary "part" off, and cut a similar gouge where the part had to go. Crazy glue did the rest, and I barely notice a difference. A broken waist piece can be reused for painting with just a little work.
