New and Beautiful, the handmade Craviola from Brazilian firm Giannini, in steel string (tuned as any normal guitar) with built in pickup. We are currently stocking two models, the midrange at €620 and the Professional at €1395. with Solid Sitka front and Rosewood back and sides. What is a Craviola? Well as you can see by the photo it’s essentially a very oddly shaped guitar! It has a rich resonant tone, produced in no small part by the lovely woods used in its production and of Giannini’s own excellent production values. Slightly younger than ourselves, at 105 years old, this Brazilian firm brings the highest standard of manufacture to bear on their guitars and mandolins.
The action is easy and low, but the sound is bright and clear. Both models have excellent pick-ups and the best hitng about the Giannini is that it retains its quality of sound even through the worst amp—and we have the worst amp!
The Craviola is played by, among others, Ullisses Rocha and Nando Lauria, although with the response to it now, many more great guitarists’ names are going to be added to the list.
