Charles White has earned degrees in music from Central
Michigan University and the University of Arkansas. He sells acoustic and
electronic pianos in the Keweenaw for Mitchell Piano Works and teaches
band in Stanton Township Schools. He also serves as director for the Copper
Country Chorale and is principle percussionist for the Keweenaw Symphony
Orchestra. Charles plays keyboards in the Realtime Jazz Band and teaches
private lessons in his home. Charles composed and performed the music score
for Michigan Technological University faculty member Debra Bruch's video
essay, "Quest For Peace." In the Pine Mountain Music Festival, Charles
has served as chorusmaster for productions of La Traviata,
LeNozze
diFigaro, Madama Butterfly,
IlBarbieredi Siviglia,
Susannah, LaBohème,
IPagliacci, and Suor
Angelica. He has performed roles in the Festival - Elder Gleaton
in Susannah, Fiorello and the Captain of the Guard in l Barbieredi
Siviglia, Prince Yamadori
Madama Butterfly and Don
Curzio in LeNozze diFigaro.
Together with his wife Kirsten,
he founded Times Four, a vocal jazz group.
