Oslo, 03 July, (Asiantribune.com):Rebutting the charges of the Norwegian Foreign Ministry that the lives of Norwegians are threatened in Sri Lanka the Norwegians Against Terrorism (NAT) has pointed out that the lives of Norwegians are threatened in Norway by the Tamil Tiger agents and not in Sri Lanka.
In an open letter sent to the head of Norwegian Foreign Ministry, Torgeir Larsen, NAT says: "In Norway there have been many threats against Norwegians from the LTTE. Even a Norwegian police officer has received death threats. If the MFA care about Norwegians security then you should request the LTTE to kindly stop their threats against Norwegians. Since the LTTE control more than 10.000 votes in Oslo we anticipate no such request will be made to the MFA’s friends, the LTTE, before the Norwegian election in September 2007.
NAT also accuses Erik Solheim, "a convicted criminal," of turning a blind eye to crimes committed by the Tamil Tigers. NAT says: "Erik Solheim knows all of this (crimes) but refuses to admit the LTTE is a terrorist organization. Erik Solheim, the LTTE and Norway's paid agents in Sri Lanka view those who oppose them as Sinhalese chauvinists, Tamil traitors or extremists.
"How can the Norwegian MFA have missed the LTTE is a terrorist organization and a world-wide criminal organization involved in drugs, trafficking, credit card fraud, extortion, passport sale and prostitution? Why are the LTTE not listed as a terrorist organization in Norway? Solheim tells us the LTTE is not terrorist, but rebels. Is this due to the votes the LTTE can mobilize to Solheim’s Socialist left party and their coalition partner the Labor party?
"Today we see on the BBC reports about a terrorist in Great Britain that has driven a car into the airport in Glasgow. Fortunately only the "terrorist" was injured. It puzzles us why they are defined as terrorist and not rebels? Here the Norwegian MFA could have another business opportunity for the Norwegian Peace Industry. Why doesn’t the MFA fly over to London and try to convince the British the terrorist are only rebels?"
