One And The Same

By EJ of the great smoky mountains in North Carolina

March 22, 2005

When no one knows not even our name
Who knew before all life? one and the same
When we are lost in mounds of sand
Who filters us out with one swift hand?
When we're forced to use our own demise
Who gives us wisdom; all-knowing, all wise?
When number one counts and greed prevails
Who lights the path of the sacred trail?
When we're pushed so hard that we can't breathe
Who sends hope and blessed reprieve?
When our minds are numb; no reason-no rhyme
Who blows a warm breeze thru our mind?
When race hates race and brother hates brother
Who instills love, no matter the color?
When life kicks us hard and we grow faint
Who picks us up and calls us His saint?
When our minds and bodies are racked with pain
Who heals and gives us health again?
When babes are murdered before their birth
Who remolds them and gives them worth?
Jesus-there's something about that name
Jesus--the Great I Am--One and the Same
