Poetry By: Christina Beall --Wyoming, USA-March 12, 2000

From the dawn of the creation of man the ideals and desires of mankind down through the ages has been self conceived to elevate the heart and soul to the ultimate height of spirituality through pride and selfrighteous only to find that the way there was corrupted by the very intent to climb the highest mountain of spiritual-being without assistance from God or his angels. Like a lost bird that soars high looking for a refuge, man's way of deliverance will always be earthbound, lost and condemned, living in the flesh,"Almost an Angel".

Almost an Angel

By: Christina Beall--Wyoming, USA

Self preservation has kept you alive
With moderate happiness.
What right do you have to touch the sky?
To feel unearthly bliss

What voice is that you listen to?
What demons do you hid?
Your heart you deny, fate you curse
Why must you hold it inside?

How can you let go once more
Of a love you know that's right?
You've turned away so many times,
When will you give up the fight?

Standing solemnly at the edge of love
So afraid to fall,
When angels sing ,"open your wings",
But you never heed their call.

Centuries of denial are enslaved
Behind your mind's eye
If you leap that cliff with bound wings
How are you to fly?

Your mind screams indecision
As you foresee certain defeat
Fear overwhelms you
And your heart makes it's retreat.

Run to that dark cavern,
To where your fears lie,
Run away in silence
As the angels softly cry.

You bound your wings with your choice
To turn true love away,
Now you will live in the pain of your fear
Forever from this day...
