About The Author of the Chateau of Poetry

Hello: My name is Charles A. Cowan. I was born some time ago in a small farm house on the banks of The Roanoke River shaded by lofty cyprus trees near a little agriculture town of Williamston on The Roanoke in Eastern North Carolina. I graduated from Williamston High School years ago after which I joined the Navy for a service tour. After leaving the Navy after a four year term,I moved to Washington,N.C. where I worked at Radio Station WRRF and WITN-TV Station as an engineer for several years. Later I was employed by East Carolina University where I worked for ever it seemed. I married Mamie Hardee from Grimesland,N.C.way back when and we are still to this day,man and wife. We live in the southeastern USA in the city of Greenville in North Carolina. I was an employee of East Carolina University staff where I worked in the Telecommunication Department as a supervisor of the Electronics Shop for maintenance and repair of audio-visual electronics equipment for the university.

One of my hobbies is writing poetry of which is delicated to this home page. My work is constructed by selecting a title from moments of thought pertaining to dreams and realities of humor and real life situations and then build a body of frame-work around that title to form a finished work.Good poetry is found in many places existing in contents that touches the heart to warm our mood of character reflecting upon our inner-being a sense of tranquillity and contentment for enhancing our physical character. It is with such purpose that this room furnished with poetry here in the Chateau of Poetry is presented for you to read and enjoy.

Your comments on the poetry in the Chateau of Poetry are welcome by e-mail or by your notation left in the Chateau of Poetry's Guest Book at the main entrance of the Chateau of Poetry. Thanks for your visitation and return to the Chateau of Poetry soon.
