| G. F. Hunter's sidecar outfit was the only one entered in the Time Trials. Collier's machine was fitted with a special oil pipe to the front cylinder, which could be closed by means of a tap; Stanley's 499 cc Singer was provided with a foot-operated oil pump.
The three-lap 500 cc Scratch Race, the second event in the list, had a Fork start and finish. The first prize was a cup presented by the Singer Company. Pushers were barred except in the cases of Alan Woodman (340 Humber), the one-legged New Zealand rider, and that of Alan Hill (499 Rudge), who was lame. Stanhope Spencer (499 Rudge) got away first, but by the end of the first lap G. E. Stanley (499 Singer) had established a good lead with D. C. Bolton (499 Rudge) coming up fast. By the start of the second lap they were battling for first place, with Spencer and W. O. Oldman (498 BAT-JAP), some way behind, struggling for third. The finish provided a close exciting win for Bolton, who beat Stanley by barely a length: 500 CC SCRATCH RACE FOR SINGER CUP over 8 miles 269 yd. Fork start and finish. Speed (mph) 1. D. C. Bolton (499 Rudge) 64.18 2. G. E. Stanley (499 Singer) 64.12 3. W. S. Spencer (499 Rudge) 61.18 The five-lap Cyclecar Handicap Race over 13 miles 1035 yd (Fork start and finish) resulted in a win for G. Wadden (964 AutotrixJAP) at 45.92 mph. Harry Martin (984 Morgan-JAP) clearly had the fastest vehicle in the race, but he was handicapped out of the first three places by being sent off from scratch. He could finish no higher than fourth.
