The records held previously by the American big twins had been whittled down quite substantially, and of the few that remained, some could be attributed to Le Vack himself, who set them up before he joined JAP at Tottenham. There was now ample proof of the superiority of the British-made vee-twin when it came to out-and-out speed events, and of the
JAP side-valve and overhead-valve designs in particular.
