Have you ever loved someone more than your own life? Could you live with yourself when he left? Did it hurt more than you could control? Have you ever been in love? Do you know how it feels? Do you feel every second away from him? Have you longed for his touch? Do you live everyday wondering what he does or if he is OK? | Dough: Mix 1 lb butter and 4 C flour. Stir in 1 C water and mix well. Chill overnight or longer. Filling: 1 lb almond paste 3 eggs 2C sugar 1 t vanilla Beat almond paste with electric mixer until smooth. Add sugar, eggs and vanilla. Mix well and chill. When ready to bake, divide dough and filling into 14 equal parts. Roll 1 section of dough into a 14X14 inch strip. Then take a sectiom of filling and spread it down the center of dough strip. Lap one side of dough over the filling, then the other side and pinch the ends shut. Placed on greesed cookie sheet with seams on bottom. Brush tops with beaten egg whites and sprinkle sugar on top and prick with fork every 2 inches for steam to escape. Bake 400 degrees for 30 minutes. (hubby usually uses 2 lb. almond paste.) | Chocolate Covered Strawberries with Champagne |
| Purchase your favorite Champagne and chill. Buy fresh strawberries that that have their stems intact. Wash, dry and refrigerate the strawberries. (Cold strawberries will cause the chocolate to harden and there will be less dripping.) Chocolate dip: Buy a jar of Nuttela, European chocolate hazelnut spread (available in specialty and grocery stores in Atlanta as well as Harry's) Place 1 cup of nutella in a double broiler or foundue pot. Add 1 to 2 T of heavy cream. Heat over low heat! Add more heavy cream as needed until the consistancy of heavy cream. Serve your Valentine! Men, you can do it! |
