Wicca is a nature-based religion that recognizes the existence of a Goddess and a God or any number of Goddesses and Gods. Wicca acknowledges that there are many paths to Godhood and that each person should find his/her own way. Because of this acknowledgement, most Wiccans will recognize the validity of other religions and other paths than their own. Wiccans do not seek converts to their religion but rather welcome those who come to see with answers to questions and hospitality. There is no problem if a seeker finds that Wicca is not their path, they are allowed to seek their spirituality elsewhere without judgment.
Wicca is a path of personal responsibility. The primary tenets of the Wiccan path are the Wiccan Rede and the Threefold Law. While there are many origins of these documents, none can be claimed as divine. The Rede in its simplest form states, As it harms none, do what you will. The order of the words is important to the practice of Wicca one should look at the harm that will be done, to others or to themselves, before taking any action. The action should be weighed against the Threefold Law which states Everything you do, good or bad comes back to you three times (there are many different versions of this as well.) Each action has a return of three times. If you do good, you get good in return, conversely if you do bad, that too is returned threefold. If you are willing to live with the threefold of your actions.
Basically, Wicca is religion that celebrates life and understands death.
Wicca is based on the concept of free will. There is no Satan, no evil being to influence someone to take an action that they would not normally take.
Wiccans strive to attune themselves to nature and to the elements. They follow the Wheel of the Year which is the old agricultural calendar of planting and harvest. They also believe in reincarnation, holding that one that is born learns lessons, passes away to the Summerlands to rest and recover before being born again to learn more lessons. Wiccans also strive to develop their psychic abilities and raise their spiritual consciousness. Wiccans observe a moral code of ethics that reveres life.
