Hanson-Roberts
My favorite deck. It's bright, cheery, and brings the symbolism to the fore. The unhappy cards aren't glossed over. The Five of Pentacles, the Ten of Swords -- they are definitely still scary. Mary Hanson-Roberts is a better artist than Pamela Coleman-Smith, who drew the original Rider-Waite. I identify strongly with this deck.
There's an extra card in this deck which I call "The Tarot Teacher". I keep it as part of the deck and use in my readings. To me it means "Learn the tarot and the mysteries it reveals".
