R = RSS      r = relief work

An IDRF web page informs us that:

Sookruti, Bhubaneswar $107,685.   300 tube wells for drinking water, self-employment through Sriphal biplab (50,000 coconut saplings), Gobardhan project (milk-yielding cows for 111 families), Gram Seva medical van, reconstruction of houses for six workers; Also deep-water rice cultivation, etc.

But an IDRF page also says: Sookruti ( One teacher School), Bhubaneswar, Address: 218, Kharvel Nagar, Unit - 3, Bhubaneshwar – 751001

If Sabrang classifies this as relief work, why do they classify other items related to the Orissa cyclone relief as “e” – education, Hinduization, even though they are for reconstruction of school buildings damaged by the cyclone?

Answer to the question is obvious.. Sabrang didn’t find it useful to study IDRF’s Orissa effort . Once they labelled an NGO, they seem determined to assign an “e” for the activity inspite of knowing the grant purpose. (Through out their report, the name of the organization has played a big role in deciding what their activities should be.. )

All the IDRF money given to Sookruti has been used for disaster rehabilitation.

From testimonials: .

“ ..Government of Orissa gave Sookruti the best Voluntary Organization Award on 15th August 2001 at Soochana Bhawan Bhubaneshwar, by the Chief Minister and
Urban Minister. ..”
