We are pleased to introduce ourselves as a Charitable Public Trust (regd. 80G certificate) dedicated to the service of the discarded children of God (generally called ‘orphans’), needy women and aged persons. We believe that each soul is potentially divine and, as Swami Vivekanand said, our goal is to manifest this divinity within. Our service is oriented towards helping the less privileged in the society, to discover their identity and develop their individuality. This, we propose to achieve by providing succour for a dignified living and helping to gain education so that today’s helpless will shape into responsible citizens of tomorrow.  Vatsalya Trust made a humble beginning of its orphanage with just two girls and an eight room flat at Kanjurmarg, a suburb of Mumbai in February 1983 and 18 years later, our dedicated service has resulted in  * Sheltering 791 children and finding adoptive parents for 645 children out of these.  * Providing home, health care and education to orphaned children from cradle onwards through our ‘Shishu Gruh’ (home for infants) and ‘Bal Gruh’ (home for children) Schemes at Kanjurmarg.  * Post adoption care for children and providing orientation to parents through seminars/workshops/interactions with Psychologists, Physicians, Educationist etc.  * A child welfare and Guidance Centre at Mulund under the banner of “Bal Pratipal Yojana” in collaboration with Chaitanya Trust of Prabhadevi which provides complete residential shelter to 10 children including six school going children.  Experience has shown us that with the changing social values and economic disparities, there is an ever-increasing need to empathize, and care for the needy. With this as our goal we had built a residencial complex at Sanpada, near Vashi in Navi Mumbai. The three storeyed building with 14,000 sq.ft. of constructed area had cost us Rs.1.20 crore. This complex had been inaugurated on 7th Feb.2000 As a policy,the State Government does not give any grant for construction of the building and the aforesaid expenditure of about a crore of rupees was raised by means of generous donations from philanthropic individuals/Trusts/Companies etc..  As a first activity at Sanpada, we have started a Home for Aged who do not have any kith or kin. As on today we have 12 old persons under our care. From May 2000, we have started Balikashram by admitting destitute adolescent girls and also girls coming from financially weaker sections of the society, who would be given formal education. As on today we have 53 girls between the age group of 4 years to 15 years under our care. We would also provide temporary shelter to the girls in distress. None of the aforesaid activities are income-generating. Even for recurring expenses of the Orphanage, we have to seek donations; since the Government grant which we receive is insufficient.  We have pleasure in informing you that Mumbai Municipal Corporation has recently released a plot of land to our Trust in Kanjur Marg area itself. We had taken physical possession of the said plot on 05-02-2001. The plan for our proposed building has been approved by the Corporation. The three-storeyed building would cost us around one crore of Rupees. The construction of this building, albeit, has to be done out of public donations only, since no Government grant is permissible for construction activity of any Trust.  We therefore make a fervent appeal for a generous donation for construction of the aforesaid building as also for maintenance of the present activities.  N.
