Vikas Bharati With a name like “Bharati” how can it be anything other than sinister, to the FOIL-minded? R-rated. Allegedly into “Hinduization” of tribals.
Other funding for this project comes from the Mahamana Malaviya Mission [[i]], started in 1978 by alumni of Benares Hindu University (BHU). BHU is a major university established during the days of the British Empire, and site of one of the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology) in memory of Madanmohan Malaviya, a prominent leader and educator in North India. Office-bearers of Vikas Bharati include the Vice-Chancellor of Benares Hindu University – who appears to be a permanent Patron. The President is Justice Giridhar Malaviya, formerly of Allahabad High Court. The Vice-President is Ramesh Chandra, Ex. Executive Director, the Times of India – one of India’s best-known newspapers - which, incidentally, was the first to carry the interview [ [ii]] with Dr. Biju Mathew, spokesperson for the authors of [4].
