I look upon the waters From the safety of the night. I see crashing waves against the rocks, And the half moon casting it's light. This twilight brings on memories, Of a time...Not so long ago. Much happiness I remember, And how I loved him so. He was for me the man of lore, The love I prayed to find. I thank the Gods for the day we met, Though he's gone from sight, but not mind. It was a hap of chance you see, His passing was not planned. A good man lost to eternity, My grief was hard to stand. He gave his life for humanity, A hero many would say. I asked the Gods for answers, So I prayed and prayed and prayed. There are no answers to be found, This I know as time has passed. So quietly, I silently grieve. For this past I had hoped would last. I hold very tight those memories, As I reach for the comfort of the night. It's when the day turns to darkness, In the shadows of blessed twilight. Charlotte |
