Benden Weyr

F’les- Main Character. Weyrwoman for Benden Weyr, coming after her predecessor Paige and her Gold Plaeth, takes position after becoming weyrmate to A’ox, rider of bronze Brazenth. Rider of female bronze Beautilith. F’les’s ancestry runs back to Lessa and F’lar. Father was brownrider F’lek of Benden Weyr and mother was Naomi, a Hold woman of Benden Hold. Both Naomi and F’lek are of Weyr Blood, F’lek descending from a long line of Dragonriders. Naomi’s father was a bluerider. F’les is out-spoken and commanding despite her small stature {~5’5”} with a great ability to get people to listen to her. She’s like a Harper in a few ways, able to make people actually believe what she says and understand quickly. She’s easy to get along with if you don’t get on her bad side, but once you get on her bad side then she’s a bit of a bother (or worse). Her temper can flare easily, especially in hard times, and she can get very edgy sometimes, especially when Beautilith is due to fly. F’les is stubborn but despite the fact she doesn’t seem human sometimes, she can get very emotional and it’s at those times that you realize/remind yourself that she’s a human being. Impressed to a Gold flit named Guild.

A’ox- Main Character. {~6’5”} Weyrleader for Benden Weyr, coming after his predecessor W’rse and his bronze Tyrenth, takes position when Brazenth catches Beautilith in Flight. Rider of bronze Brazenth. A’ox is pure Weyr Blood as far back as he knows. His father, A’nor, was a bronzerider and his mother, Xentria, was a greenrider. The majority of A’ox’s male ancestors were brown or bronze riders with most of the female ancestors being greenriders or Weyrwomen (which means his male ancestors didn’t stoop to the level drudges or cavern women). A’ox is a little more laid back than F’les and helps to even her out. He can be just as convincing as she, but usually he let’s her talk for while (or talk herself into a corner) before he steps in. It’s quite easy to get on A’ox’s bad side, all you have to do is say one bad thing about F’les within earshot of A’ox and you’ll have an automatic enemy (and/or a black eye). Despite this, his temper is a little more difficult to flare, though it’s usually F’les that can get it to flare up. He’s caring and kind, always there to lend a few words of support to an injured rider or a shoulder to cry on for his mate. Has a bronze flit named Brackish.

W’rse- Secondary Character. {~6’6”} Ex-Weyrleader of Benden Weyr preceding A’ox. Rider of bronze Tyrenth and weyrmate to Paige. W’rse is a sucker for a good bottle of wine and often will sit back with Lord Holder Seraf and down a few bottles. W’rse has a horrible temper, but usually he’s easily placated by his mate (or an offering of wine). He doesn’t have a huge liking for F’les, but will tolerate her if he has to, but would rather be on the other side of Pern and far away from her. Normally though he’s not to hard to get along with, you just have to think before you speak without looking slow.

Paige- Secondary Character. {~5’4”} Ez-Weyrwoman of Benden Weyr preceding F’les. Rider of gold Plaeth and weyrmate to W’rse. Paige is rather quiet and doesn’t first seem like Weyrwoman material. She looks frail and thin and with age catching up with her, her looks are slowly leaving. Despite this, she’s still quite pretty and when angry as formidable as ever. She has great faith in F’les and has taken a liking to the girl, almost treating her like a sister or daughter. She’s the only person who can handle an angry W’rse.

Fort Weyr

A’phi- Secondary Character. {~6’4”} Weyrleader of Fort Weyr, preceding N’get, rider of bronze Wenth. Later becomes weyrmate to Jierda, rider of gold Wyrdath. Son of A’ox and Fort Weyr’s Headwoman, Saraphina, and rider of bronze Ylinbleth. A’phi is a little more bold and loud compared to his father with a more demanding air about him. Despite being a little more demanding, A’phi is well liked as Weyrleader and has made his parents proud. He has a green flit named Azure.

Jierda- Secondary Character. {~5’4”} Weyrwoman of Fort Weyr, preceding nobody, rider of gold Wyrdath and weyrmate to A’phi. Jierda is quite pretty and very formidable, angry or not. Despite her size, she can and will fight if a reason occurs and doesn’t like having her mate handle everything. She’s incredibly stubborn and hates being in bed except to sleep in the evenings. She never accuses anybody until she hears both sides of the story, and if that doesn’t make a clear decision, she’ll punish both of the parties. She’s very kind most of the time though and understanding, often helping the Healers and giving encouraging words to the injured. Despite being A’phi’s weyrmate, she’s currently not entirely fond of him, having never really wanted a relationship of any sort, but will eventually come around to her weyrmate. She has Impressed a blue flit named Cobalt.

Craftsmasters

Masterharper Rikillian- {~6’3”} Masterharper. Harpercraft Hall, Fort Hold. Cove Hold. Rikillian is a Harper, more of a singer than a player though. He’s good at keeping order and teaching apprentices. Despite his age, he’s still quite lively and energetic and like all of the Masterharpers before him (Robinton mostly) he loves a good wine every now and then, but always knows when to stop. Whenever he hears about something (rumors I mean) he has to check it out himself before he’ll believe it or disprove it. Rikillian is highly respected and knows it too. When asked about family (if he has any kids etc) he usually tries to change the topic. Has five flits, bronze Bass, brown Tenor, blue Alto, and two greens, Forte and Fini.
