Name: Setsuna
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Appearance: Setsuna was once a very pretty girl, with long, dark brown hair, a flawless face, shining eyes, and a sparky personality. Unfortunately, fate did not like her that much and in only a couple of hours she became what some would call ugly. Her hair is streaked with a dull brown and coppery color, with almost the entire right side of her hair being white. Her eyes, though a glorious healer green, are dim and almost always full of a longing. The right side of her face is heavily scarred, and the right side of her body isnt much better. Most of her scars are hidden by well-fitted clothes, which include a dark beige shirt, dark brown tunic and matching trousers, as well as a pair of dark tan boots. She dresses quite heavily at any time of the year, but it doesnt bother her, she hates her scars and will do anything to hide them. Shes partially blind and sees everything as blurry black shadows and has no depth perception. She usually carries a staff made of dark wood with a beautiful dragonhead carved at the top. Though blind, some have almost thought she could see because shes quite good at figuring out things and always seems to be able to tell when somebody walks up to her, even before her flits alert her to it.

Personality: Setsuna, before the accident, was a sparky person with a very forward and fun-loving personality. She loved a good time, but was a hard worker and was ALWAYS intent on her studies. She was a good student and rarely strayed from her studies. But after the accident, she had a harder time working and her new blindness made it hard for her to work. But she persevered, so she is not easily deterred, sticking to it (whatever it is) through thick and thin. Shes withdrawn though and now has a mortal fear of fire of all sorts. Shes not very social, thinking that everybody would think her ugly because of her marred face and lopsided hair colors. Despite all of this, she is a very responsible young lady who does not shirk her duties. She has a hard time growing to trust anybody, since she had had trust in the person who had brought about the ruin of her life. Not only that, but she has been known to have a few emotional breakdowns, often from stress pile-ups or from rejectionof any sort. These breakdowns are rare, but when they come they can be scary and can make you realize that, as much as she seems to enjoy her life, she hates it. Adding to this point, she hasnt gone to the extent of being suicidal, but I wont say that suicide hasnt crossed her mind

History: Setsuna was born to, believe it or not, a Harper couple. Unfortunately, she didnt inherit her parents singing abilities but seemed to be quite the Healer. From a very young age, Setsuna would play Healer, bandaging up canine whelps and sometimes even the resident watchwhers just for fun. Setsuna easily made friends, especially with canine handlers and watchwher handlers. But she was a hard girl to hate, with a springy, positive attitude and a contagious smile. She was loved by all at the HarperHall, despite the fact she was not much of a Harper. For the first five Turns of her life, she was a buoyant child and was often said to be a nuisance that was gladly tolerated. What I mean is she was sometimes annoying, but she was so sharding cute nobody could get or stay mad at her. She loved to ask questions about dragons and the Weyrs, was constantly curious about watchwhers, loved to play with canines, and dreamed of riding a runnerbeast. She was a typical child, dreaming above and beyond the Red Star. This is how she lived for the first five Turns of life, from the ages of six to ten, she started to make up stories to tell the even younger children at the Hall.

She was a great storyteller and often had little boys and girls, no more than four Turns old, hurrying up to her and begging for a story.

Sesewa! Sesewa! Tell use a stowy! The pronunciation of her name often made her laugh, but she would always oblige.

Alright! Ill tell you a story aboutabout a young girl and her dragon! The stories were always wanted by the children, and they were never repeats. Everyday, Setsuna thought up new and better stories, telling them to the brats.

O! What happen to the wittle giwl and her draggie Sesewa!? Setsuna was admired for her patience and she was often treated like a nanny or babysitter.

Wellthe little girls name was Sierra and her dragon was a beautiful brownkinda like your hair Setsunas life was fabulous, and not only could she tell stories, but she often amused the children in other ways, like play wrestling with a canine or showing off pictures she had drawnor even drawing pictures for the children. Shes a fabulous artist, making pictures that look like they could leap off the page! Dragons are her favourite things to draw, but she often did portraits for the kids, or just took requests. This is much how her life went on until she was 13. It was then that her parents decided that she should get an apprenticeship in HealingDragonhealing to be exact. So with many teary goodbyes to her beloved children and many hugs and wishes of good luck from parents and residents, she was off to the HealerHall to begin her apprenticeship.

Setsuna, upon arrival at the HealerHall, was introduced to her Master, Thallian. Thallian, at first, was slightly in doubt of Setsunas abilities, since she had derived from a Harper family, but was soon set right as he saw how much she knew. You see, whenever Setsuna had had some quiet time, she would sit in the quiet shade of a tree and read a bookmost often about Healing and dragons, but sometimes she would read about Perns history, though, for some reason, she was ALWAYS interrupted when reading about Perns history. Setsuna, though VERY involved with her studies, was still able to make many friends, becoming very close to a fellow apprentice, Sherry, and a Journeyman Dragonhealer, Thrinc. She and Sherry often studied together and Setsuna often told Sherry storiessharing them quite often with Thrinc as well. Thrinc and Sherry loved her stories just as much as the children at the HarperHall had and it made Setsuna beam. She grew overly fond of Thrinc, her friendship with him soon blossoming into love, and her feelings were returned. Sherry always teased Setsuna about it, since Thrinc wasnt exactly one of the best looking guys around, but Setsuna didnt care. Thrinc was in his early twenties, about 21, and poor Setsuna was barely even fifteen. But age wouldnt come between this relationship.

Setsuna continued to do good in her studies, getting help sometimes from Thrinc and always studying with SherrySherry was not quite as apt as Setsuna was at Healing and often asked for help. Setsuna and Thrincs relationship flourished for about two years, having started when Setsuna had just turned fourteen and ended when Setsuna was 16. Thread had started falling over Pern again, and Setsuna often went out with a flamethrower, whether Master Thallian liked it or not. Sherry, of course, would join her. She never realized it until then, but Sherry had always been jealous of Setsuna and Thrinc. Wellrevenge is not always sweetespecially when the person who seeks revenge goes to far. Sherry, during the Fall, turned her flamethrower on Setsuna, catching the poor girl off guard. The fire seared the right side of Setsunas face and a fair amount of her upper body, barely licking her legs and lower body. She screeched in pain, crumpling to the ground, writhing in pain. Setsuna held her hands over her face, she couldnt see! Sherrys look was victorious thoughThrinc was as good as hers! She didnt care that her best friend had been damaged permanentlyshe had gotten the man!

What happened between the time Setsuna got burnt and the time she woke up, Setsuna didnt know. She had blacked out from the pain and awoke in bed, nothing but darkness before her eyes. She couldnt see! But then she touched her face, realizing there was a cloth over her eyes. She pulled it away andSHE STILL COULDNT SEE! Setsuna freaked out.

What happened to me?! Sherrywhy would Sherry do this to me!?!? Setsuna began to cry and was soon dosed with fellis and put back to rest.

It took her several sevendays to heal enough to get back to her lessons, but she was given a walking stick and a bit of encouragement. She was bound and determined to finish her apprenticeship, blind or not! She asked Master Thallian to help her by reading to her and making sure her writing was good.

About a Turn after the accident, Setsuna Impressed her flits, her silver, Ayes, and her brown, Guerir. Her flits really helped her out, and Guerir even learnt how to speakpartially. He spoke rather like a watchwher, short, incomplete sentences using very simple words. It was enough though, and their four eyes made up for Setsunas missing of two. So, now the flits would look at a page of a tome for her, create a picture, and show it to herthis is how she would read when Thallian was unable to do so for her. She quickly found out that Thrinc and Sherry were a couple, though she no longer helped Sherry with lessons and refused to talk to Sherry or Thrinc. Thrinc said very little to her and often turned his back on her. This made Setsuna feel no better, but there was little she could do about it. But she finished her apprenticeship and, at the age of nineteen, she received her Journeywoman knot. Master Thallian was proud and knew that Setsuna would be a wonderful Dragonhealer. She was a remarkable person and Thallian would most certainly miss her since she had decided to go the High Reaches Weyr to take care of the dragons there.

Setsuna, Ayes, and Guerir all went off to High Reaches Weyr, Setsuna receiving her beautiful, dark wood, staff for a parting gift. She shed many tears the day she left upon dragonback, but she knew that life would be nice at the Weyr and that she was needed there. She went to High Reaches about a Turn ago and, upon her arrival, was shunned by the Healers.

How can a blind girl take care of injured dragons?! Setsuna felt lower than a pregnant tunnelsnake, but soon proved her worth. She healed a dragon who, upon returning from Fall, was said to not be worth the time. The dragon, a small silver, was badly scored, wings seared, hide sliced, and all but slathered in green ichor. But Setsuna persevered and saved the dragonshe was the only Healer that was willing to help the creature. After the silver was healed completely, flying perfectly and betweening with no pain, she was accepted quickly by her fellow Healers and was never shunned again. Shes still not entirely happy, since some Weyrfolk still shun her for her looks, but she feels better than she was did. Sherrys betrayal she will never forget, and Thrincs cowardice, as she would call it, makes her both mad and sad. Life goes as well as it can for her though and she enjoys it as best as she can

Flits Name: Ayes
Age: 4
Colour: Silver
Appearance: Ayes is the size of an average silver, with a shimmering silver hide that envies the moons. Hes well built and very swift, easily able to catch a gold or opal in flight and out distance a bronze by dragonlengths.

Personality: Ayes is a determined, responsible flit with a heart bigger than his stomach. He cares greatly for His and Guerir and is a little Healer himself. He often helps Setsuna while she heals dragons, bringing her supplies and showing her perfectly clear images of the dragon and its injuries and where the injuries are exactly. Hes quite patient and doesnt rush people, dragons, or other flits. Hes not very haughty either and has more or less dedicated himself to Setsuna and her profession.

Flits Name: Guerir
Age: 4
Colour: Brown
Appearance: Guerir is a large brown, hued of a cinnamon-like colour, seeming to be softly dusted with a pure white on the top of his head, creating almost a halo.

Personality: Guerir too is a little Healer, helping His as much as he possibly can. Hes a little more pushy than Ayes, but not too haughty. Hell chase the occasional gold or opal, though would much rather help His than help in raising a family. Hes smart and learnt to talk on his own, though he can only speak like a watchwher. Short phrases like, Setsuna good, and Dragon hurt, are some of the things he can say, but he has a hard time stringing together any more than five words. Hes not a brat or troublemaker and isnt nearly the glutton most flits are. Hed starve if it meant helping His, a dragon, or a rider.
