| After all these years I'm told to put Vietnam behind me I only wished they would understand that behind is not far enough Some are able to put a lot behind and go on quite well | ||||||||||||
| For me from a distance Vietnam is still near At night I'm right back there having to kill or be killed. For me it's not easy to forget the drying Marines in my arms. For me maybe to forget is something I can't do. For me the sound of a huey still is the same/ For me gunfire still sounds the same | ||||||||||||
| To you Vietnam is 25 years ago To me and my memory it's only a closed eyelid away | ||||||||||||
