"Today's Family"
Today's Family is hard to see.
For now it's "You for You" & "Me for Me".
Two persons who got together for an event.
To make a new day care resident!
Little ones not many years old.
Who speak like Combat Marines, I'm told.
They never sit together at a table.
Thanks to microwaves we're able.
To eat what we want in 90 seconds.
No mess, no bother, no communication.
We don?t tell them not to lie, steal or cheat.
Getting away with that is really neat.
Send them to school; let it be Mom & Pop.
We have to work, work, work, can't stop, stop, stop.
Right now nothing could be better.
Let's work at putting the Family back together.
Sure it's hard for family to be.
Like it should, "Me for You" & "You for Me.
Yesterday's Family is not from the past.
Over the years giving love & having time made it last.
So think about it before those day care recipients.
Ship you off to a retirement home.
That I warned you in this poem!
