Progression or Regression,   That is the Question?
Today I took a trip back to my youth and I returned quite sadder for it. I went to places that I spent more hours at than I should have. At least that's what my mom always told me.
I went to Old Killingly Pond only to find a big fence with signs that read NO PARKING, NO TRASPASSING and PRIVATE PROPERTY. I thought how did we let the few ruin it for others to enjoy? Take even Alexander's Lake, we had a lot of good times at Wildwood Park I remember the water wheel and rafts. I even remember roller skating there every week. Now due to everybody being afraid of being sued and no one willing to take responsibility for anything it no longer exists. We have lost so much that was the fun part of growing up.
I guess I expected too much. Those in power have given up so much just to be safe. Now we're always in a rush to get to where I don't know? I hope some of you wake up and figure out that something's are timeless and too important to let go or forget about. I guess most of you will not have time to read this. So you just let your idea of progress give your childhood or your children's up. I am glad that some of us had and took the time to enjoy.
I am sorry for those of you who think you have to rush to the end of your life without enjoying the most important parts of that life between birth and death.
