CRYING INSIDE

From the amtrack with 17 still Marines at Chu Lai

I've cried inside

To the duce and a half with still V.C. piled high

I've cried inside

Now after over 25 years,my tears have reached the

outside

Now after all this time I'm able to cry on the

outside

For those I've had to watch die in silence

When I lay to rest a fellow Marine,now I cry

When I watch a movie about Vietnam,now I cry

When I see the homeless and needy,now I cry

When the sound of taps echo,now I cry

All my crying on the outside will never equal all

the inside crying that I've done
