| I. Team Policies A. Academics 1) You are required to have passed 5 classes in the previous semester in order to be on the team. 2) You must attend classes everyday & be on time. 3) You cannot miss practice because of a class assignment or exam preparation. However if a class assignment or exam conflicts with practice, then speak to one of the advisors or coaches. B. Conduct In School & Out of School 1) You will be expected to conduct yourselves in a first class manner at all times, because you represent yourself, your families, your advisor/coaches, your team & your school. 2) You will be expected to dress properly around campus. 3) Inappropriate and foul language will not be permitted at any time. 4) The use of any tobacco products, alcoholic beverages, or illegal drugs will not be tolerated. Any player caught using any of these substances will face disciplinary actions by the CHHS administration. C. Practice, Competition & Performance Schedules & Conduct 1) You will be expected to be on time and attend all practices, competitions & performances. a. If you are late or absent to a practice, competition or performance, then you will lose points for the Competition/Performance Points System. b. If tardies or absences are excessive, then you will need to meet with either the faculty advisor or one of the coaches. 2) You will be expected to dress out in appropriate clothing for practice, competitions & performances. a. Appropriate clothes include (t-shirts, shorts, sweats and boots on occasion). b. Hanging earrings, rings, bracelets necklaces and other valuables are not allowed. c. Matching competition & performance uniforms will be required. d. No snacks or drinks are allowed, except for water, sports drinks, or healthy snacks. D. Practice Locations 1) There is no food or drink allowed, except for water in certain locations. 2) When in the Dance Studio, do not touch the mirror, sit on the bars and shoes are required due to slippery floor. E. Leadership Positions/Officers 1) The Vice President/Captain will be voted on by team members & the other officers will be chosen by the advising/coaching staff. 2) President � This student will oversee the running of the step team 3) Vice-President/Captain � This student will run practices, while the coaches will oversee practice. 4) Secretary � This student will handle administrative duties such as taking minutes at meetings, submitting announcements and collecting paperwork. 5) Treasurer- This student will oversee all financial transactions for the team. 6) Business Manger � This person will organize competitions & practices. |
