This car was bought over the phone and was sold as "not running." The owner told me that he had blown a head gasket and that was all it needed to be driven since he had just had the engine rebuilt. Well, like all things in life it turned out to be much more complicated than that. What started out as a head gasket replacement turned into an engine replacement as we found the head gasket ws in fact perfectly fine... Turns out a valve got mangled and tapped the piston a few times. So.... we swapped out the tired looking 289 for a freshly (???) rebuilt 302. Now remember, everything you see here was done in a one car garage in an apartment complex that didn't allow automotive work. With the garage door closed the front bumper would almost touch the wall and the back bumper would be against the door. |

As You Can See The Floor Wasn't Too Bad. After about twenty hours of scraping old carpet glue and insulation off the floors we had it down to bare metal. |
|
Here is the floor ready for that molded Carpet kit and the Shifter to go in. The Black stuff is Eastwood's Rust Encapsulator. |
