There was a person once who told me of one of their many little ideas (which will never make it out of her head, and are probably forgotten soon after conception), for a penny revolution. Every time she got pennies, she said, she would throw them in a river, and encourage other people to do likewise. Eventually, pennies would run out of circulation (in theory), and pennies would be no more. I think the river would fill with pennies before the circulation was depleted, but her ideas are never really thought through.. I thought to carry it one step further.

People often have jars of pennies lying around. I started my own penny jar, which every penny I get goes into. I no longer use them to make exact change, and some people I know give me their couple of pennies from uneven changes. This is a very slow process, so I thought that if I had enough gall, I could break into each and every house and apartment, to steal their penny jars. Part of the work already done for me.

When my room became too crowded with pennies, I could melt it all down and make jewelry or other cheap trinkets, sell them, and start collecting again. No pennies, no choked rivers (due to pennies, at least), and I might make money from it. I'd have to break into people's homes, though. Not that it's a bad thing, but it is illegal, and I'd probably be shot. I'd kill someone trying to steal something of mine...

Perhaps I could go door to door asking for pennies. I still may be shot, but that, at least, is not illegal. So, send me your pennies, before I'm forced to enter your home looking for them.
