Pic 1: Canadian singer/songwriter Chantal Kreviazuk's new album is the kind that stays in the CD player for a solid six months. With enough texture, intelligence, and feeling to satisfy the moodiet of musical appetites. What If It All Means Something (Columbia) is a dish Chantal believes everyone can enjoy. "I'm trying to get more deep and revealing, at the same time keeping a palatability to it," she says. "I mean that in a way that I can connect with others, because I've had a taste of how it feels."
Pic 2: With her third full-length album since her debut in 1997, Chantal is continually amused at comments about her longevity. "I'm still in my 20s and people say, 'You've been around awhile.' Wow, we must suck in this business, because if someone has more than one song or album, you've 'been around awhile'," she laughs. "I guess I'm lucky then, right?"
Pic 3: The classically trained pianist found her true calling as a songwriter while recovering from a serious motorcyle accident. "The key for me is to reveal more, and heal more via my music, and at the same time be aware that it's not just my own."
