Although this disc is a step above Chantal's last album, Colour Moving Still, it still can't hold a candle to her debut with the phenomenal Under These Rocks and Stones. This girl has to be reminded that more is less-just because hubby Raine and his crew need layers and layers of instrumentation, it doesn't mean she does.

With her trademark piano slipping further and further into the background on many of this album's tracks, Chantal moves away from an edgy Tori Amos sound and more towards a mainstream complacency. The title track, "In This Life," and "Turn the Page" are the sure-fire standout songs, but I may just think so because they're the only ones that remind me of authentic Kreviazuk. [Columbia]
