| Star Ocean 3: Till the End of Time looks like it's going to 1-up the previous two installments in the series in every way. The graphics are gorgeous, the storyline looks very intriguing, and the main male character, Fate Lingod, looks a HELL of a lot more promising than Claude Kenni ever did. Except for one thing, and that one thing is a big'un. They removed most of the freedom of the item creation system. What the hell were they smoking when they made this decision? Seriously. You know, I know, EVERYONE knows that the item creation system is really what set apart the Star Ocean series from everything else. I know of no other game that allows you to mold metals into useable accessories. I know of no other game that lets you create your own healing items. I know of no ther game that lets you cook your own food. None at all. But in SO3, apparently they're taking most of that out. Which is a serious mistake. And you know WHY they're taking it out? Because people are complaining that it's too complicated. That's a 'What the fuck?!' situation right there. What kind of mongrel idiot do you have to be for the entire item creation system goes right over your head? If pressing a button to learn a skill, and then pressing another button to use a skill is too complicated for your feeble mind to comprehend, then it's a fucking wonder you can even turn on your PSX/PS2. There's a name for people like that. They're 'special people'. Yes, so fucking special that Enix gets to take out a system that makes the game fifty billion times more enjoyable just because idiots think that it makes the game hard. You know what? Too fucking bad. These people are getting babied. If you can't handle item creation, then FUCK YOU. Go play a game like Kingdom Hearts. Or at LEAST ask Enix to include a comprehensive manual to the ever-so-difficult system of item creation. Wait, no, nevermind. They might as well include it in-game with voice-overs. You never know if those who need it CAN'T EVEN READ. But for the love of God, don't ask Enix to remove a system everyone else who's GONE THROUGH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL enjoys. It's just too fucking selfish and too fucking stupid to ask that. It's like you're complaining to your mommy that you don't want to ride a bike - too complicated. Well fuck that, that's why you fucking LEARN! But then again, some people CAN'T learn, and those are the people that are complaining. They play through SO2, but can't quite grasp item creation. If you don't understand item creation and you're more than halfway through Star Ocean 2, then I suggest you just drop the fucking game and sell your PSX. You're probably too stupid for every other game on the console, except lame FPSes like Duke Nukem. And you know what? Fuck you too, Enix. You're like an overprotective mother. "Oh, they think it's too hard? Oh, oh, remove it! Quickly!! We have to appearl to stupid people too." You're lucky that I fucking like the Star Ocean title enough to go out and get SO3, because I'm sure other fans don't. Give up a great part of the game for stupid people, and lose the smart people. People who'd also indulge in your other games. I swear, you've gained enemies for life by doing that. You're just as fucking stupid as the people who don't get item creation. I'm sick and tired of stupid people getting what they want and the rest of use - who have a normal level of intelligence - have to suffer and conform. It's bullshit. Stupid-ass Enix has to oblige the morons and leave us to wonder why the hell they even made the item creation system in the first place if they're just gonna remove it 'cause some dumbasses can't grasp the fucking concept of hitting buttons. Yes, you idiots, that's all it takes - hitting buttons. Can't udnerstand it? Deal. But, oh, wait! you can just complain to Enix, and they'll completely take out the ability to hit buttons, too! all you have to fucking do is turn on your PSX/PS2 and you'll play the game. No degree in hitting buttons required. Ain't it fucking grand? That is, of course, assuming you have the mental capacity to turn on your PSX/PS2 in the first place. It's a very daunting task. So that's that. SO3's probably gonna be a disappointment just because some stupid people complained. Thanks a lot, you fuckers. |
