Foreign Objects
The new and chic trend in technology and consumer culture is an item that accompanies the cellphone (also an item that exudes an aura of snobbery and faux bourgeois). The cellphone accessory is a headpiece that you strap on your head, like a pop-singer, that is connected to your cellphone by a thin wire. This makes it possible for you told talk on your already convenient cellphone without using your hands! Looky here you poor fuck! I've got the newest breakthrough in technology, and you don't. So the owner of this device can still shop for groceries with two hands, and the world is a better place for this contraption, I guess. However, the headpiece could be construed as rather unnecessary and ridiculous looking. Often times I'll mistake a person that is talking into their headpiece as someone delusional or schizophrenic. Other times I think they're talking to me and I attempt to answer them. Therefore, I do believe that the cellphone headpiece is asinine and should only be reserved for the paraplegic or anyone aspiring to douchbag status.
Thank you.
