-At this time NewsStar 2 was Houston's only Satellite Truck
and was the only member from Texas in the CONUS group at the time.A similar animation is seen in each of the opens from the time.

-The Newscast that was closing in ratings wise with 13's "Live at Five", but broken up for "The Scene at Five" in 1988

- Pretty much the same as the other opens, except different visuals for the "slideshow" open

-Ron Stone gives a preview of the night's big stories. The music heard is from the 1984-88 package by an unknown composer.

-Based on The NBC Promo campaign of the same name, this combines NBC's top celebrities and a local touch of anchors in this promo. You'll see Sylvia Perez, Bebe Burns, Ted Shaw, and others in this one. Surprised I remembered it!

Happy Birthday Channel 2!- 1988-89
-In Celebration of the station's 40th anniversary on January 1,1989, KPRC commisioned
Johnny Dee & The Rocket 88's to produce a song to commemorate the event.

Channel 2 24 Hour News Open- 1992
-Taped in September 1992, this was when the station was slipping and quality was dropping. The Open seen was used from October 1991 to Mid 1993 when they changed to the PNP.

Channel 2 News at 10 Open- 1994
-When Post-Newsweek Bought the station in 1994, changes were not immediate. At this time, there was no graphic open on newscasts. Just anchor V/Os.
