-At this time NewsStar 2 was Houston's only Satellite Truck
and was the only member from Texas in the CONUS group at the time.A similar animation is seen in each of the opens from the time.

-In Celebration of the station's 40th anniversary on January 1,1989, KPRC commisioned Johnny Dee & The Rocket 88's to produce a song to commemorate the event.

-Taped in September 1992, this was when the station was slipping and quality was dropping. The Open seen was used from October 1991 to Mid 1993 when they changed to the PNP.

-When Post-Newsweek Bought the station in 1994, changes were not immediate. At this time, there was no graphic open on newscasts. Just anchor V/Os.
