Task A Group Work

In your group, discuss the following :

Is it necessary to impose controls on the content found in the Internet?
What sort of controls would be effective?

Points:

After careful discussion, we agree that controls should be imposed on the content found in the Internet.

	Impose controls can prevent Internet users from visiting the XXX-rated sites. These sites usually content of pornography materials that not healthy to the teenagers.
	Impose controls can help to prevent Internet users from entering illegal sites. These illegal sites usually provide information that is banned in our country. For example, Internet users can access to the sites that can teach them to make a bomb or do any other weapon that may cause insecure in our country.
	Sensitive issues such as the Ex-vice Prime Minister, Datuk Anwar Ibrahim case is widely discuss by everyone in the country. Impose controls on these sites can prevent any demonstration or riots that had happen in our country a few months ago.
	Controls on the certain sites can minimize the risk of fake news reaching the Internet users.
	Some leak question from the major examinations such as PMR, SPM and STPM will be leak out before the examinations start.

EffectiveWays of Controls:

Set-up a newly designed program – NET NANNY that will help Internet users from visiting negative sites.

There should be Cyber Officers that will monitor all the Internet users in Cyber Corner or Cyber Caf�. This will make sure they (Cyber Corner or Cyber Caf� Customer) do not visiting the negative sites.

Parents should pay more attention on their children and advise them not to visit the negative sites.

Teachers should instill moral values and hold religion lesson for the students so that they can realize the important of not entering the negative sites especially the pornographic sites.

School and education department should make a more educational and suitable websites and search engine that will help students or teenagers to find valuable information for their projects.

Local newspaper agents should put more website review to the entire Internet lover so that can know which is best to visit rather than the negative sites.
