KARMON INFLUX (ÄSRAV)

KARMONS, ELECTRONS OF KARMA FLOATING IN SPACE, ARE REPRESENTED IN THREE FORMS: UNLABELED IN BLACK, AVERSION (DWESH) IN RED, AND ATTACHMENT (RÄGA) IN BLUE. THE MENTAL, VERBAL, AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES OF AN INDIVIDUAL GENERATE THIS KARMIC FORCE.

Artist’s narration:

This painting shows the process by which an individual creates karma. The particles of karma, known as karmons, are first undefined and floating in space (in black). One’s mental, verbal and physical activities create a karmic force and then define karmons as either aversion (in red) or attachment (in blue). These karmons, shown as red and blue spots, flow toward (äsrava) and attach (bandha) to the soul (in white) through the three represented bodies: Tejas (yellow), Karmon (green), and Physical (tan). This is the first of three paintings of the “Karmon” series.
