Pop & Rock - Thru' My Mind, When Heart Rocks

  - Chandra Shekhar Upadhyaya
Too fast / noisy / unbearable / don't understand / beating my mind / headache - Having heard all the adjectives like about the Pop & Rock music, which may be true to some extent, yet depends on who the artist is.

Keeping above at the back of my mind I chose to listen to Bruce Springsteen (an all time favourite), who wrote almost all of his songs based on happenings around him at different times. Listening to him with a different perspective - evaluating for some meaningful words or just another piece of Shitty Rock.

So, I just selected a few of his "Greatest Hits" tracks and immersed in it for sometime last weekend. And pals, it worked out to be a pretty interesting exercise.  I could discover a  good poetic ambience filled with optimism in the messages in some of his  songs. I have just jotted down below what I found:

Lonely Heart

Everybody needs a place to rest
Everybody wants to have home
Don't make a difference what nobody says
Ain' nobody likes to be alone.

On Karma (like a message from Geeta)
You can't start a fire
Sitting around crying
Over a broken Heart
You can't start a fire
Worrying about
Your little world falling apart
You can't start a fire
You can't start a fire
Without a spark

Brooding over bygones won't help

Everything dies baby
That's a fact
But may be
Everything that dies
Someday comes back
Put your make up on
Fix your hair pretty
And meet me tonight
In the Atlantic City

Selfish World
You and me were pretenders
We let it all slip away
In the end what you don't surrender
Well the world just strips away

Hard times, still Smile
So you have been broken and you been hurt
Show me somebody who ain't
Yeah I know I ain't nobody's bargain
But hell a little touch-up and a little paint

When Emotions beyond Controls

You might need something to hold on to
When all the answers they don't amount to much
Somebody that you can just talk to
Baby in the World without a pity
Do you think what I'm asking is too much
I just want to feel you in my arms
And share a little of that Human Touch
Share a little of that Human Touch

So next time you when guys hear to a little piece of such music, find yourself the treasure hidden inside, and may be that you enjoy it much more.
