During the summer of 1999, Chance actually got to live and be a normal happy 1 year old. During that summer, the family went to Missouri to visit relatives on Table Rock Lake. It was that summer that he got to take his first boat ride and he absolutely loved the wind whipping into his face. It was also during that summer that his brother Tyler learned to fish. Although Chance was too young to fish, he played his part in fishing also. Meaning he had a fun time with the worms. This photo was caught before the worm actually made it into his mouth, but it was a moment that we all remember!
Chance has a sparkling personality. He's one of those kids that seems to always have a smile on his face...he even smiles a lot when he is sick. Everyone seems to fall in love with this little boy, who seems to be braver than most of us could ever dream of.
Chance has an older brother, Tyler, who is 6 years old. He and Tyler are pretty close, and Tyler seems to be pretty protective of his baby brother. Together they have had their fair share of getting into trouble, like the time they took everything in the bathroom of mom and Grandma's (like lipstick, perfume, contact lenses, etc...) and dumped it all into the toilet.
Chance's mom stays home and takes care of the boys. They are a pretty tight family, and with Chance's diagnoses of Leukemia, it has only brought them ALL closer together.
