“Dedicated to a pious man” by Zuhair Abbas
The first child to adapt to
Islam
Who treated animals with no
harm?
Ali was a gallant warrior, a
true friend, a generous foe
In childhood learning, he
was enthusiastic and never slow
He was brought up by his
cousin
Even as a youngster he never
committed any sin
He was liberal in giving
charity
Even at his own home
provisions were at scarcity
Ali was the paragon of
Muslim nobility and chivalry
He passed no individual
without showing courtesy
He was magnanimous to his
adversaries
His generous amnesty still
cherish my memories
The gate of knowledge as he
was termed
The ‘diya’ of knowledge
he constantly burned
A loving and caring person
was he
This was truly admired by me
A symbol of sheer purity and
devoutness
A just man full of
astuteness
His character in sooth
inspires his fans
The strength gifted to him
by God was bound writ in his hands
