Chapter
11:“Monopoly” Part II: “Cartel”
“Hello,
Lyla, could you meet me at LightLum park, today,
7:30?” I asked “Sure” was the reply. I had gotten to it, but this meant to
me more than a ambiguity, someone’s life. Angel and Lyla’s. Perhaps, the
whole town of Hopewell. “Yanviel is going with me mom.” I took the keys of
my bike and strode off. Reaching there, I saw something that wasn’t expected.
Angel and Lyla stood there, trading money and jewels with a bunch of old
Hopewell gangsters who were still wanted. I hadn’t seen both of them i.e. Lyla
and Angel but with the description of their clothes, they could be recognized.
“What is this?” I demanded to know the truth. “Care for a little monopoly,
would you?” Lyla smirked. “B-E-A-Utiful, isn’t it” said Angel. Realizing
that I had been trapped by a bunch of gangsters, I decided to make a move when,
“Not so fast, pal.”
A hefty teenager, of my age, came towards me, smoking Benson
& Hedges ® and
with him two other sidekicks held me by the collar and pushed me near a cabin,
someone opened the door and Yanviel and I were kicked into that torture chamber
for an hour near the fireplace where Lyla, Angel, the boy Jason, and his
sidekicks Jake and Ryan spent smoking, discussing plans and laughiing at us.
They made proposals to us to join their gang and I’d be rich but I turned them
down which enraged them. They left the room and accidentally left a cellphone
behind!
My ropes
weren’t so tight that I could struggle forward when I heard knocking, frequent
knocking. An uncanny chill swept through the room as the window opened and the
frost came in. I was about to shut it when Ryan came in. “How unusual and
unfortunate is it to be locked here.” he smiled. “Hard luck,” I croaked.
“What would you say if I’d let you out of here.” “It’s unnatural.”
“It’s so true.” I couldn’t believe my ears. Atleast someone was human
enough to do so, when I asked him, “What’s their plan?” “Money!”
“Evidences?” “False, kept em all myself” “Why?” “You ask too many
questions.” “It’s my job” “Stop!” I think he got frustrated.
“Lyla told
me it depended on her life.” “She’s one.........” “No insults, were
still here, we could be heard.” “The room’s sound proof, it was Angel’s
idea.” “Let’s stop goofing around and leave.” I had a plan.
Out of the park into the woods. That’s what I should say.
Mystery solved. All suspicions went bogus, proofs were all forged, set up to
confuse me and the mastermind behind the buch of these teenagers was the one and
only Manial Kapt, the villain behind all masterpieces of crime and robbery in
our country. All of them were caught simultaneously as well as their stolen
treasures were confiscated by the governments. Every impossible act carries an
IM in it, IM POSSIBLE! As for me,
mystery retirement for a while. Hey, wait a minute, do I see a apprehensive
thing nearby................... (ah forged it!)
