"Moma" to 14 children, "Granny" to 53, Great "Granny" to many,
and even Great Great "Granny" to some. She stayed with us
long enough to see several of
her descendants bring her 5 generations alive.
She was a remarkable woman in my eyes
(I am one of her 53 grandchildren).
When I look at her and her life, I look at her with amazement.
I awe and admire the fact that she survived some very
hard times with so many children to care for.
Though she did not march for women's rights, and never had her name in lights,
she shined her light from within to luminate those around her.
She gave me strength and a firm foundation.
Granny tied the knot that held our family in place,
and she did not leave us empty handed when the time came.
Granny left us wonderful memories of tender smiles, gentle nature,
inner strength, and lasting love.
We have inherited these things from the Lady, most beautiful...
she is endearing to all who knew her, she is truly missed, and remembered always.
