acting in accordance with clear ethical and moral values.

Unethical behavior or an abuse of power utterly destroys trust.

We show respect by exhibiting humility, by deeply understanding that which we would lead. In my office I am surrounded by pictures of every student and teacher in the district. They remind me who I am, whom I serve, who depends on me to act wisely, and to whom I am ultimately accountable.

I will protect the welfare of the state’s schools by safeguarding and building trust in them. I will strive to model the values of the state and its communities at all times. Setting and maintaining high expectations throughout the educational community is among the most important acts of leadership. The failure to set high expectations is also an ethical failure. Without high expectations, we waste precious human talents and abilities.

Leadership is the ultimate expression of integrity, and honesty. It requires the ability to see choices, the willingness to make the right choice and the courage and endurance to stay the course. Mistrust and lack of motivation can result from poor communication and the misuse of power. There is truth to the old adage, "people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." I care deeply about Wyoming’s schools and communities. The most important aspect of any working relationship is that we act with integrity to a set of ethical and moral values. Acting with integrity builds trust and respect, and these are the foundation upon which will build a world class school system.

I believe that our communities are best situated to make a difference in the lives of our children, and that their decisions should be honored and supported. I believe that Champions for Children exist in every community in this state, and together, we can make Wyoming the best place on earth to be a child.

Text Box: Working together, we will make Wyoming the best place on earth to be a child...
Wyoming State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Dr. Trent Blankenship

My desire to lead the state’s schools emanates from my desire to serve them. I will seek to understand the wants and needs of Wyoming’s children, teachers and communities. before embarking on any reforms. I will be wholly and single-mindedly devoted to student success, and will take great care to make sure that the highest priority needs of our students, teachers and communities are being served.

The most important basis of any working relationship is trust and respect. I believe that any difficulty can be overcome as long as trust and respect are preserved. We show respect by treating someone as if they are valuable and trustworthy. We show respect through building trust before expecting compliance. We build trust by our integrity, through consistently
