| Let me introduce myself; my real name is Sophie Bourque but online as I am known as ChampGoof. I was diagnosis with Fibromyalgia about 2001 or 2002, the symptoms had started to appear years before that. Later they also added generalized Arthritis and an autoimmune dysfunction. I was am one of the lucky ones I have a great husband who has stood by me and after years and years even have a good doctor! One of my pass-times before the illness took over my life was creating graphics on the computer. Until I was able to take a hold of my life again I had lost all interest in pastimes since they took just to much energy. Once things were ?under control? again I started playing with my graphics again. They then became a therapy for me. A way to release some of the frustration of being a 20 year old trapped in a 50 or 60-year-old body. I wrote my story a few years ago and it can be found on the Canadian FMS website. http://fm-cfs.ca/Sophie.html I made some graphics that are positive yet humorous and still bring awareness to our daily plight. I started making them just as small graphics, then bigger, then had one printed for me, then had a few more printed. Wear them, carry them and use them with pride to let people know that even though we have a chronic illness we are a part of society and would do (or have done) almost anything to have the old us back. We did not ask to become. The pictures are either tubes, or pictures I made myself with various programs. They show the frustration, anger that is part of our daily lives while still remaining positive. Any questions, concerns or any comments please feel free to contact me at [email protected] All of the items are printed, shipped by Cafepress.com but the images remain mine. There is so many people I want to thank I dont even know where to start.. Thank you Flaky for the insight, to Rita, Pat, Chris and so many others that showed me I wasnt alone and of course thank you Connie for always being there with kind words and great patience. |
