Welcome to the unveiling of Chameleon Mace Studios latest acquisition:

1966 Volkswagen Kombi

Here are some initial pictures of our latest toy. The story:  after looking at busses for the last couple months, I found this one online and hundreds of miles on my search, I was going to make it the last bus that I was looking at before throwing in the towel.  I didn't expect to find much when I made the trek to see it, but when I did I couldn't believe my eyes.  It was bright, but it was also one of the nicest busses I had seen.  It had a slightly drivable shot tranny, but the engine purred like a kitten.  The interior was clean - all panels, carpet kit, headliner, seats - near perfect.  All of the rubber wass fresh.  The paint wasn't too bad, just bright.  What pleased me was that everything worked and almost everything was in place!  A rarity if you know busses.

Let me tell you, I know why the kid who sold it to me couldn't afford the tranny job.  Talk about labor intensive.  Here's what finally went into the bus before I got it on the road:

New Transmission, Rebuilt reduction gear boxes, New rear brakes, New Shocks, New Generator, stay tuned Stories to Come.

Please help. If you have the measurements or sheetmetal to help convert my bus to a stepthru, please email me.

Don't need them anymore,because it's done!
