Good, poignant movie. Not for the squeamish. All goofs retrieved from the ever useful IMDB unless stated.
Revealing mistakes: A rock wall moves when bumped by a soldier as if made of cardboard.
Anachronisms: One of the soldiers is seen wearing a pair of Oakley "X-Metal Juliet" sunglasses. These glasses were not released until 2000.
Continuity: In the satellite image, the helicopter hovering over the city is a Bell UH-1 "Huey", but in the regular aerial shots, it is a UH-60 Blackhawk.
Revealing mistakes: Guide wires are visible on several of the rocket propelled grenades throughout the movie.
Factual errors: The film depicts all American soldiers wearing kneepads. In reality, during this mission, only the Delta Force soldiers wore them.
Revealing mistakes: While driving over rough terrain, the barrel of the .50 caliber machine gun on the roof of a Humvee flexes and wobbles... clearly a rubber model.
Audio/visual unsynchronised: When Mr. Atto leaves Mogadishu in the Land Rover convoy, the last Rover clearly squeals its tires on a dusty dirt road.
Continuity: After Sgt. Busch crawls out of the first black hawk wreck, the goggles on his helmet disappear and reappear several times.
Audio/visual unsynchronised: While evacuating prisoners, McKnight's voice is very obviously overdubbed, as Sizemore's mouth appears to be saying something completely different from what is heard.
Audio/visual unsynchronised: One of the Delta troopers is heard saying, "I'm jammed!" but he does not open his mouth.
Continuity: When the car with the X on top of it is driving through the city streets in the beginning of the movie, there are a lot of people nearby. However, in the overhead camera view of the car, there's like ten people next to the car. Webmistress.
Continuity: When one of the soldiers gets shot in the neck, his wound is on his right side. Later on, when the people drag his body from a Humvee to the base, his wound has switched to the left side. Webmistress.
