Darkness....That is the only word that explains Kendra's whereabouts. She finds herself in an
lifeless void, floating in its cold nothingness, and eventhough she seems to be in complete
control of her senses, the emptiness around her feels surreal, dreamlike. Then a thunderous
booming sound echoes throughout the void, again & again getting louder & faster after each turn.
Kendra struggles to obtain some form of readiness, but finds herself unable to move simply
floating, dangeling at Fates strings. Suddenly the darkness begins to split open, flooding the
void with a blazing liquid light. That's when the voices start, peircing through the still
booming echoes that fill the void. Kendra muscles tenses as she continues to fight for some form
of control, while the light overtakes the darkness engulfing Kendra in it spectral essence. Now
Kendra struggles harder as the light cuts off her oxygen, clogging the precious air from her
body, and then and sudden shock ripples throughout her very being as she crashes into the ground.
She breathes heavily for a moment while regaining her senses, looking up she finds herself in a
less than appropriate place, a graveyard.
Kendra approached the familiar settings of the Sunnydale graveyard, as she stalks through the dark stone garden she notices a strong presence filling the air, the strong scent of, burnt flesh. Intruiged by this aroma Kendra quickly heads to the source. When she arrives at the scents orgin she notices a large demon laying on the ground , it's body is popping and sizzling like it was fried. Kendra covers her mouth and nose as she approaches the creature, because the smell is even more intense here. Suddenly the ground begins to move around her, but not in an earthquake sort of way, more as if something was moving underground. As she looked around she noticed two large bulges growing around her. Kendra leaps to the side as the bulges explode sending her flying over one of the nearby tombstones, which in turn sheilds her from the chunks of flying earth made by the explosions. As Kendra gathers her thoughts she hears strange voices coming from her previous location, as she slowly glances around the tombstone she see's two more demons not like the dead one though, these were roughly the same height, but had large hooks instead of hands, and a single row of spikes running down their chests. They looked down at the dead demon, then one looked at the other and spoke in a strange tounge, "Siht si eht s'reyals korw, I nac esnes eht ecnesse fo reh rewop. Ew tsum llet eht retsam" The other demon snarls, and nods in agreement. It then say's, "Tahw tuoba siht eno?" The demons turns back towards their fallen comrade ,one of them raises his hooked arms saying, "Eh deliaf ot llik eht reyals, dna eht retsam seod ton tpecca eruliaf!!" The demon quickly drops its arm, and an expolsion of earth erupts around the dead demon, quickly turning into a small tornado of dirt and rock, Kendra quietly watches as the demon is ripped to shreds until nothing of it's body is left. As the "sand storm" fades the demons let out what only could be classed as laughter, and then are immediatly swallowed into the ground. Kendra stands, dusts herself off, and walks over to examine the remains, but finds nothing left. "I wonder what they were talking about?", Kendra say's to herself, she then notices a long, shining sword sticking out of the ground she approaches the sword, and cautiously takes it out of the ground. She admires its craftsmanship, and spots an enscription on the blade. After a few moments of deciphering it simply reads, "Burn the Light, Free the Dark" At this time the sword gives out a flash of light that temporaraly blinds Kendra, and before she can release the sword, she feels a sharp bolt of enegry surge through her arm. Kendra drops to her knees and screams in agony as the pain shutters throuhout her body, but then it abruptly stops. Panting heavily she raises to her feet looking over herself seeing nothing different, she then looks down at the sword as it burns away into ash. Looking at her hand she feel a slight throbbing sensation, but nothing that she can't ignore. Suddenly Kendra hears the shuffling of someone, or something in the distance, she turns and sees only a glimpse of a figure, and begins to move in that direction to investigate. << Back Next >> |
