1.4.2  Deployed Port Operations, Security and Defense  Conduct thorough surveillance of an assigned area of operations, and dispatch appropriate assets to investigate any threat to security.   Assets are capable of sustained presence.

Deployed Port Operations, Security and Defense (DPOSD), a national defense mission conducted to ensure militarily critical port and harbor areas in or near the theater of operations are maintained free of hostile threats, terrorist actions and safety deficiencies which would be a threat to support and re-supply operations.
